Health stories from remote indigenous communities

Sutton Grange Films was commissioned by Skinnyfish Music to produce a series of short films documentaries and music videos in remote Northern Territory indigenous communities. The client is the Australian Federal Government as part of the “Close the Gap” initiative for improving aboriginal life expectancy. Sutton Grange Films engaged local writers and musicians to develop scripts. Filming took place in diverse communities from Milikapiti on Melville Island, Galiwin’ku on Elcho Island, Milingimbi, Ngukurr and Manmoyi.

Many of the films have an English version and a version in the first language of the writer. There are films in Yolngu matha, Kriol, Kunwinjku and Alawa to name a few. The films are being released one every three weeks over 2014. There are over 20 films in total.
